Finding your life balance

It was the beginning of the day and I had already exercised at 6am and logged on to spend most of my morning in front of my computer. After spending the day checking emails, joining internal calls, completing work assignments and running errands for my family, I was exhausted.


I took a break to check social media when my best friend sent me an invite to dinner with a few of her colleagues. The last thing on earth that I wanted was to go out after a long day but I didn't want to disappoint her by declining so I sucked it up and went!


It was a moment to LEARN from. Each day we are blessed to see will present us with challenges, time constraints and competing priorities. When in doubt, prioritize YOU. At work, ask your team for help or delegate when your task list is overwhelming. Remember, to also be a team player for others when the time arrives. Find your voice and say "no" to friends or family when the request will impact you in a negative way. Be confident in all the meaningful ways you prioritize your love ones and allow them to return the favor by understanding the importance of prioritizing your needs as well.

Lastly, take a bubble bath, read a book enjoy your favorite show or read a blog post on Instagram @skinnyvshealthy at the end of a long day. I promise it will improve your ability to focus on all the things in life that truly matter!
